Apocyclops royi is rich in DHA and EPA, serving as a food source for fish fry. They habitually float in the middle and upper layers at night. Males are approximately 0.7 mm in length, while females are about 0.8–1 mm. At a water temperature of 30°C, they show better performance in egg-carrying and activity, with the egg-carrying interval inversely proportional to water temperature. (Cheng, Chen, & Chen, 2009).
